Mitsubishi Ecodan WUZ Air-to-Water Heat Pump
One System. Heating, Cooling, and Hot Water.
The Ecodan WUZ pairs a high-efficiency outdoor unit with an indoor Hydrobox that houses everything you'd normally source, mount, and pipe separately: plate heat exchanger, circulator pump, expansion vessel, magnetic filter, backup electric heater, flow sensor, and relief valve. One connection point. One service location. Front-access serviceability means you're not pulling the unit apart to do routine maintenance.
Available in 2, 3, and 4 ton capacities (24,000 / 36,000 / 48,000 BTU/h), the Ecodan WUZ covers single-family homes, multi-unit residential, and light commercial applications.

Why Contractors Want the Ecodan WUZ
Cold Climate, No Compromises
Hyper Heating INVERTER with flash injection delivers 100% rated capacity at -15C and continuous operation down to -30C. A built-in backup electric heater provides additional assurance for your clients during the coldest nights. This system was designed for Canadian winters, not adapted for them.
No Glycol. No Heat Trace. No Freeze Risk.
The refrigerant-split design keeps all water circuits indoors. The outdoor unit runs refrigerant only. That eliminates glycol, heat trace, and the maintenance callbacks that come with them. Less complexity on the install, fewer issues down the road.
Intelligent Control, Out of the Box
The Flow Temperature Controller (FTC) manages the complete system: outdoor unit, Hydrobox, zone control, and hydronic circuit temperatures from a single interface.
Built-in features include Eco Mode (auto-adjusts supply water temp based on outdoor conditions), booster heater management, mode changeover, advanced diagnostics and commissioning tools, and SD card duplication for fast multi-site setup. Supports onboard zone control and external zone relay integration.
Efficient Enough to Justify the Switch
COP up to 5.05 at 7C outdoor / 35C LWT. That translates directly to lower operating costs for your clients and a faster payback on the investment. R-32 refrigerant keeps the GWP low for projects targeting sustainability or green building standards.
Retrofit-Ready
Leaving water temperatures up to 70C (158F) mean compatibility with existing radiators, baseboard convectors, and legacy hydronic emitters. Built-in boiler integration supports hybrid configurations for phased electrification. When your client wants to move off a boiler but isn't ready to replace their entire distribution system, the Ecodan WUZ fits.
Quiet Enough for Any Neighborhood
Outdoor units operate at 41 to 45 dB(A), roughly the volume of a library. Anti-vibration design and six-layer compressor insulation with a three-stage low-noise mode make this a fit for urban infill, tight lot lines, and multi-unit residential where noise complaints kill projects.
Built for the Jobs You're Quoting
New Construction
Supports modern low-temperature hydronic heating design while still delivering high water temperatures where needed. One outdoor unit, one Hydrobox, and standard hydronic distribution replaces what used to require a boiler, chiller, and separate DHW system.
Multi-Family and Light Commercial
The compact Hydrobox footprint fits space-constrained mechanical rooms. Long piping allowances (164 ft total, 100 ft vertical) give you flexibility in outdoor unit placement across larger buildings. Integrated or external zoning keeps individual units comfortable.
Boiler Replacements and Retrofits
Works with existing distribution systems at supply temperatures up to 70C. Built-in boiler integration supports hybrid configurations for clients who want to electrify in stages rather than all at once.
