WATER QUALITY and GLYCOL
- The performance of a heating system is only as good as the condition of the heat transfer fluid, either water or glycol. This is especially important with today's high efficiency heating systems, which are often composed of a combination of metals (steel, brass, aluminum, and copper). Maintaining the proper heat transfer fluid chemistry is important in ensuring the efficiency and longevity of any heating system. Non-toxic proplyene glycol is the most common means of freeze-protecting your heating system in the winter months and is typically used as a year-round heat transfer fluid.
